REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE BRIAN WUTZ ANNOUNCES HIS CANDIDACY FOR LIVINGSTON COUNTY TREASURER

- Wutz is a civil litigation and tax attorney who practices in Brighton, Michigan. He represents taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service, Michigan Department of Treasury, United States Tax Court, United States District Court, and Michigan Tax Tribunal.
- Wutz is licensed to practice in Michigan and New York. He is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court, Michigan Tax Tribunal, Supreme Court of the State of Michigan, and United States District Court – Eastern District of Michigan.
- Wutz is a graduate of St. Francis High School. He completed his four-year Bachelors of Science (B.S.) degree in managerial law and public policy in three years from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. He attended the prestigious Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University (ranked #1 by U.S. News and World Report) and earned a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) in state and local finance. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the Michigan State University College of Law where he was awarded the Elizabeth A. Oehmke Memorial Scholarship and a Trial Practice Institute certificate.
- Wutz is a conservative republican and a member of the N.R.A., Livingston County Republican Party, National Republican Party, and supports the Thin Blue Line, LACASA, RTL, RetakeOurGov, and Pregnancy Help Line. He currently serves as the Sergeant-at-Arms in the Brighton, Michigan Rotary and will sit on the board of directors in June 2012.
- Prior to joining the tax law firm of Angelique M. Neal, Mr. Wutz owned and operated a successful civil litigation law firm in Brighton, was a Senior Associate at the Kitch Firm, clerked for the Michigan Tax Tribunal and the Hon. William M. Skretny of the United States District Court, and was a Consumer Aid at the New York State Attorney General’s Office.
- Mr. Wutz resides with his wife, Kathryn, in Genoa Township.
